My Parents Died of AIDS, But With Your Help, I Don't Have to Die of Loneliness

When Amana lost her parents to AIDS, she didn't have any other family members to turn to. For many children, they are left to fend for themselves in often very poverty-stricken villages. But Amana is among the fortunate ones who have found safety at the Nyumbani Children's home. There, she has is provided with the safety of shelter, clean water, and daily nourishment. But without a Mom and Dad to care for her, Amana suffers from a different kind of malnourishment:

"Sometimes, I just want someone to read to me, or play dollies with me."

And that's where you can make a different in the life of a child like Amana. By volunteering with GVN, you can spend time with young children like Amana that are starved for the attention of a big brother or sister.
